Aqua-Rehab was set up in 2010 to address a lack of Aquatic Physiotherapy in the local area. Being close friends and having worked together managing a NHS aquatic therapy service for over 15 years, Julie and Deryn felt it was a natural move to set up a business together doing what they love.
They both strongly believe that clients should get the best out of themselves in as fun a way as possible!
Julie Dixon
Julie qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist from Coventry University in 1994 and achieved a Masters Degree in Back Care Management at Loughborough University in 2011.
Julie continues to work within the NHS providing aquatic physiotherapy treatments to patients undergoing rehabilitation at the National Spinal Injuries Centre, Stoke Mandeville Hospital. She started working independently in 1999, providing neurological physiotherapy treatments in clients own homes and aquatic physiotherapy treatments for a range of conditions, including musculoskeletal and neurological, in a variety of pools.
Julie is an active member of the Aquatic Therapy Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (ATACP), a trainee ATACP tutor and attended the 2022 IATF ‘Advanced studies in aquatic therapy’ course in Switzerland. She is also a medicolegal expert.
Deryn Creasy
Deryn qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist from Brunel University in 1998 and achieved a Masters degree in Advancing Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation and Management from Bucks New University in 2014.
Deryn has extensive experience within the NHS providing aquatic physiotherapy treatments to patients undergoing rehabilitation at the National Spinal Injuries Centre, Stoke Mandeville Hospital, where she has worked since 1998.
Deryn is an active member of the Aquatic Therapy Association of Chartered Physiotherapists.
Deryn is actively involved in swimming, and regularly competes as a swimmer in Regional, National and British Masters championships.
